About Kolleno
Kolleno is a London-based B2B SaaS company that transforms financial operations for businesses. Over 1,000 companies trust the platform to simplify receivables, payments, and reconciliation. The tools integrate with existing finance systems, which cuts manual work and errors while giving finance teams real-time insights, customizable workflows, and automated collections. Clients see a lower Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), more on-time payments, and an average of two days per week saved in manual work.
At the heart of Kolleno's product is its use of artificial intelligence and machine learning to prioritize and automate workflows, which sharpens credit control and the customer payment experience. Kolleno was already growing at a healthy rate with a small in-house marketing team, but the founders wanted to expand their reach faster. They brought in NUOPTIMA as their B2B SaaS SEO agency to build a search engine that could compound over time.

Who we were targeting
Kolleno's buyers are finance teams at B2B companies who are still managing receivables, payments, and reconciliation manually and are actively looking for a way to automate that work. The keyword research and content plan were built around how those buyers search and where they sit in the decision process.
- Finance and operations teams at B2B companies evaluating tools to cut manual reconciliation work and reduce Days Sales Outstanding, the core problem Kolleno's platform solves.
- SaaS buyers researching fintech automation, matched through keyword clusters organized by relevance and search intent and mapped to specific pages on the site.
- NUOPTIMA studied Kolleno's business model and clarified the target audience directly with their team before content began, so the strategy aimed at the right segments from the start.

What We Did
Our plan to grow Kolleno's organic traffic started with a technical fintech SEO foundation, then layered on content and links. The technical work covered site speed, mobile responsiveness, and URL structure, plus a site structure audit for cleaner search engine indexing. We added schema markup, metadata optimization, and site architecture improvements, and used Google Webmaster Tools to monitor performance.
On top of that we ran comprehensive keyword research tied to Kolleno's services and how their customers actually search. We audited the existing content for SEO effectiveness, mapped the gaps, and studied competitor backlinks and market competition. Throughout the engagement we sent regular, detailed reports on rankings, traffic, and key metrics so Kolleno's team stayed informed and involved.
Project Preparation
In the first phase we set a baseline. We monitored Kolleno's search positions and analyzed website traffic to understand their online presence and how users behaved on the site. We also studied Kolleno's business model and clarified the target audience with their team, which let us aim the strategy at the right segments.
Keyword Research
We built and organized the keyword set for the Kolleno site, compiling potential phrases from a range of sources for a well-rounded selection. A big part of the research was competitor analysis: we identified the sites ranking in the SERPs and collected the keywords they ranked for, which showed us the competitive landscape and surfaced additional keywords worth targeting. Here is an example of the competitor data we worked from:
We also gathered search suggestions, which point to trending and long-tail keywords, and read the SERPs to see what content already ranked and how to compete. Once we had a full list, we grouped the keywords into clusters by relevance and search intent, then assigned each cluster to a relevant page on the site to guide targeted content optimization.
Content Optimization
Our SaaS content strategy was built to raise the site's relevance for both search engines and users. It included the following work:
| Task | Description |
| Analysis of Heading Tags (H1-H6) | Conducted a thorough analysis of heading tags across the website, evaluating the length, presence, and order of H1 to H6 tags to ensure effective content structuring and emphasis on key points. |
| Plagiarism Check | Checked all website pages for plagiarism to maintain content originality and integrity, ensuring Kolleno's content was unique and valuable. |
| Content Relevance Check | Evaluated the relevance of existing content on the website, ensuring alignment with Kolleno's business goals and the target audience's needs and interests. |
| Content Quality Analysis | Rigorously analyzed quality, assessing readability, engagement level, and the inclusion of relevant keywords while maintaining a natural text flow. |
| Content Plan Creation | Created a detailed content plan based on the analysis, outlining content types, topics, and a schedule for content creation and publication. |
| Optimization of Titles and Descriptions | Revised and optimized title tags and meta descriptions for each page to improve click-through rates and ensure content relevance. |
| Heading Tags Optimization | Created and corrected H1-H6 heading tags to effectively structure content and highlight key information in a user-friendly and SEO-friendly manner. |
| Enhancing Uninformative Pages | Added relevant and engaging material to new or uninformative pages, enhancing visitor value and improving search engine rankings. |
| Writing New Articles | Wrote new articles with a mix of informational and transactional content tailored to Kolleno's audience and SEO goals. |
| Publishing Optimized Content | Published new, optimized pages and articles, ensuring proper formatting, relevant keyword inclusion, and alignment with the overall content strategy. |

Looking at the top-performing pages, the SEO campaign for Kolleno produced clear results by November 2023. We wrote and published 85,000 words of content, which pushed 874 keywords onto the first page of search results and lifted Kolleno's visibility and searchability. The strategy also earned 253 quality backlinks from reputable sources, which strengthened Kolleno's authority in the SaaS space. Together these efforts built a foundation for ongoing organic growth.
Organic Traffic
- Once Kolleno published the content, traffic began rising and went up 48x from when we started working with them in October 2022.

Traffic Value
- During March 2023 the traffic value began to rise as the SEO strategy took effect. It went from an average of $1.5k to $12,491 in September 2023.

Organic Keywords
- Keywords ranking in positions 1 to 3 on Google went from only 1 when we started to a much healthier 59 after the content rollout.

Backlink Results
- Referring domains kept climbing, up from 123 in October 2022 to 253 as of November 2023.

Key takeaways
- Content compounds when it sits on a clean technical base. The 48x traffic climb followed a technical audit that fixed site speed, indexing, and structure before a single article shipped, which is the order we recommend for any SEO program.
- First-page rankings come from volume plus intent. Pushing 874 keywords onto page one took 85,000 words mapped to real search intent, not scattered blog posts, which is the core of an effective B2B SaaS SEO plan.
- Authority and rankings move together. Growing from 123 to 253 referring domains gave the content the trust it needed to hold positions 1 to 3, so links and content should be funded as one program.
