About Netmap.net
Netmap.net is a VPN provider that uses advanced data and traffic encryption to protect user privacy across channels, platforms, and devices. The team had done a lot of technical work to make the product reliable, but the site was not turning that effort into traffic or sales. They came to NUOPTIMA to fix the marketing side. We started working together in November 2019 with one goal: optimize the site structure so traffic and sales could multiply.
Who we were targeting
Netmap.net needed authority and brand awareness with buyers in the Russian and Ukrainian markets, specifically people in e-commerce, streaming, and B2C who needed a VPN. The 50+ content pages were structured around where those buyers sat in the funnel.
- Top-of-funnel searchers unaware they needed a VPN, reached through landing pages targeting terms like "VPN for XYZ website" and "Top VPN services."
- Middle-of-funnel readers who already knew the brand and were researching specific use cases, addressed with blog content on topics like "How to Access Hidden Websites."
- Bottom-of-funnel buyers already showing purchase intent, the audience behind the priority keyword "Buy VPN," in the Russian and Ukrainian e-commerce, streaming, and B2C markets.
The Challenge
Netmap.net needed authority and brand awareness with buyers in e-commerce, streaming, and B2C. On the surface the site looked fine, but under the hood it was not. URL structures and redirects were misconfigured, and duplicate content pages were confusing search engines. None of that reads well to Google, and it was holding the domain back. Our fix started with a full technical SEO audit before we touched a single piece of content.
What We Did
Technical SEO
After the audit, we moved fast to bring the site in line with Google's guidelines:
- Fixed duplicate and canonical pages
- Resolved indexation problems
- Created proper meta tags for each page
- Set up Google Search Console configuration
- Removed language detection and redirects
- Created suitable Hreflang tags
- Improved page loading speed
- Retrieved some previously deleted pages
- Enhanced Core Web Vitals
- Added a table of contents to every blog post
- Practiced internal linking
- Switched from www to non-www
- Repaired server-side rendering issues
Combined with the content strategy below, this cleanup refreshed the domain and started producing results within a couple of months.
Content Strategy
50+
Content pages
The target was to rank for "Buy VPN" in the Russian and Ukrainian markets. So we planned at least 50 pages of niche content, all optimized around targeted keywords, as shown in the screenshot below.

Those pages combined landing pages and blog articles built to cover the top, middle, and bottom of the funnel. The landing pages targeted specific keywords like "VPN for XYZ website" and "Top VPN services" to capture top-of-funnel searchers and pull unaware audiences to the site. Once people knew the brand, our blog content addressed real pain points with topics like "How to Access Hidden Websites," the middle-of-funnel work that drives acquisition and engagement. We also extended the blog toward specific sites that would benefit most from a VPN. The bottom of the funnel targeted the audiences already showing buying intent. This full-funnel structure is the same approach we bring to every SaaS SEO engagement.
Results
Within a couple of months of starting in November 2019, Netmap.net was ranking #1 for its priority keyword "Buy VPN," had grown to 5.5k organic keywords, and had grown traffic 2.5x. The technical cleanup made the site crawlable, and the 50+ content pages gave Google something worth ranking.
Key takeaways
- Fix the foundation first. Duplicate pages, broken redirects, and indexation errors cap what any content can do, so a technical SEO audit is the right first move.
- Rank for the money term by earning it, not chasing it. Building full-funnel content around "Buy VPN" is what put Netmap.net at #1 for it.
- Speed follows structure. A clean site plus 50+ targeted pages produced 5.5k keywords and 2.5x traffic in a couple of months, the kind of compounding you want from SEO.
