A Chicago company with 20 to 300 people usually lands here for one of two reasons. The person who handled information technology (IT) on the side can no longer keep up, or the current provider has stopped answering fast enough. Comparing the best managed IT services in Chicago then comes down to what decides the contract: who answers at 2 a.m., what one user costs per month, and how long the term runs.
Below are eight managed service providers (MSPs) with a Chicago office or a stated Chicago service area. Each entry reports what the firm's own website and Google Business Profile say. Where a fact card uses Clutch (hourly rates) or LinkedIn (team counts, founding years), it says so. Where a firm publishes prices, hours or response targets, they are here; where it does not, you get the question to ask.
This page is not for enterprises with a large internal IT department, buyers who only want one-off break-fix repairs, or businesses outside the Chicago area. The numbering is for navigation and says nothing about quality, so read each entry against your own headcount and industry.
How this list was built
We checked every provider on its own live website and its Google Business Profile, the listing behind Google Maps results (see our guide to Google Business Profile for MSPs). To make the list, a firm needed:
- A Chicago presence: an area office or a stated service area covering the city.
- A managed services offer: ongoing monthly support, beyond project-only work.
- A live site: clearly the company's own.
- Checkable facts: headquarters (HQ), hours, response targets, pricing or ratings stated on that site or profile.
We dropped firms without a Chicago presence, project-only and break-fix shops, and dead or reassigned domains. Every entry, including its Google rating, was last reviewed on November 7, 2026.
Each entry opens with a fact card. Review summaries are our reading of each firm's most recent Google reviews (up to 40), pulled in November 2026. Pricing marked Clutch is the hourly band the firm reports on its Clutch profile, and team counts marked LinkedIn are people who list the firm as their employer there. Fields we could not confirm are left off the card.

Each row shows the firm's headquarters (HQ), nearest office or stated service area, its Google rating, its support coverage and one thing it is known for. Google ratings come from each firm's Google Maps listing in November 2026. Under Google, n/a means we found no rating we could match to the firm; under Support, it means we could not confirm its support hours.

mtusa.com- Google rating
- 4.9 (44 reviews)
- HQ
- Chicago, IL (Loop)
- Support
- 24/7 monitoring and engineers
What Google reviewers say: Quick support and troubleshooting get reviewers' computers working again. Our summary of the 40 most recent Google reviews, November 2026. The firm did not reply to any of them.

Speed is the headline promise from Micro-Tech U.S.A.: its homepage claims a response in 15 minutes or less. The firm says it supports more than 5,000 end users from its office on West Monroe Street in the Loop, with further offices in Milwaukee and Raleigh. Monitoring and management run 24/7, and the remote support page promises round-the-clock access to skilled engineers.
The service list is long. Alongside remote and on-site support and server administration, it covers procurement, asset management, audits, Microsoft 365, Azure work from a Microsoft-certified team, artificial intelligence (AI) services and professional audiovisual (Pro AV) work. Its virtual chief information officer (vCIO) page lists compliance support for the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC), the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Payment Card Industry (PCI) standards and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Best fit: Companies that want one vendor for IT support, compliance planning and professional audiovisual work.
Think twice if: You plan to hold them to the 15-minute figure; ask whether it means a first reply or a working engineer, and whether it is written into the contract.
2. XL.net
xl.net- Google rating
- 5.0 (66 reviews)

- Chicago, IL
- Support
- 24/7/365 live support
What Google reviewers say: Prompt responses and troubleshooting resolve reviewers' computer problems quickly. Our summary of the 40 most recent Google reviews, November 2026. The firm replied to 1 of them.

Five Illinois addresses sit on the contact page of XL.net: East Erie Street and North Ravenswood Avenue in the city, plus Naperville, Schaumburg and Rockford. Live support runs 24/7/365, and the firm says 99.3% of calls are answered by real engineers instead of automated systems or offshore call centers. Each client gets a dedicated XL Tech Officer and a system analyst.
Security is a strength on paper: a managed security operations center, threat detection and response, endpoint and firewall protection, and penetration testing. The firm holds System and Organization Controls (SOC) 2 Type II and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 27001 certification, and it was a 2026 MSP Titans of the Industry finalist. The site lists monthly technology audits and claims 79.8% fewer IT issues. Short-term and month-to-month contracts are on offer.
Best fit: Multi-site companies that need live answers at any hour and audited security controls.
Think twice if: On-site speed matters most; ask which of the five offices would send someone, and how month-to-month pricing compares with a longer term.

What Google reviewers say: Timely responses and troubleshooting help resolve computer issues quickly; two reviewers report slow support and delays that cost work time. Our summary of the 40 most recent Google reviews, November 2026. The firm replied to 19 of them.
Prices are the reason to open the site of EMPIST first. New agreements are quoted per user per month: Essentials at $99 for 5 to 15 users, Standard at $125, Cloud at $145, Advanced at $165 and Premium at $235. That is a benchmark before any sales call.
The Loop headquarters works alongside a team in Elmhurst and a second operations team in Athens, Greece. Support runs 24/7/365. Response and resolution targets are set per client and tracked in the EMPIST 360 portal, and contact forms get a reply within one business hour. The firm cites 26+ years helping Chicago businesses, holds SOC 2 Type II and ISO 9001, and focuses on legal, healthcare, finance, manufacturing and non-profits. If you are under attack right now, EMPIST says it triages non-clients during an active ransomware attack, breach or lockout.
Best fit: Legal, healthcare or finance buyers who want a price list before the first meeting.
Think twice if: You want every engineer local; a second operations team sits in Athens, so ask which team takes your calls overnight.

What Google reviewers say: Prompt help desk responses and attention to technical issues. Our summary of the 40 most recent Google reviews, November 2026. The firm replied to 36 of them.

Growth for its own sake is off the table at PSM Partners. The about page says the firm stays boutique by keeping a cap on company size and never selling the business. Partners with over 70 years of combined experience founded it in 2015, starting in a tiny office in the financial district.
The service covers a 24/7/365 help desk, network operations center (NOC) monitoring, Azure and Microsoft 365, cybersecurity with incident response, and telecom. The unusual piece is a Talent practice that places IT staff, from executives to industry specialists, so the same firm can run your systems and help you hire for them. An emergency cybersecurity hotline, (312) 319-1681, appears on every page, and the site says its certified engineers are based locally in Chicago. Named sectors include higher education, finance, healthcare and legal.
Best fit: Organizations that want a deliberately small partner and may also need help hiring IT staff.
Think twice if: You run sites well outside the city; Jackson Boulevard is the only address listed, so ask how they cover other locations.

What Google reviewers say: Quick responses and troubleshooting help resolve everyday computer problems. Our summary of the 40 most recent Google reviews, November 2026. The firm replied to 40 of them.

SafePoint IT writes down what it will not do, on a How We Work page with 67 plain answers, including what its service level agreement (SLA) excludes. The help desk works weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central and goes offline from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.; the firm says it would sooner print that than write "24/7 support." An on-call engineer covers top-priority emergencies until 11 p.m. at no extra charge, and security monitoring never stops.
Critical issues get a 30-minute response in business hours, one hour after hours, and a four-hour resolution target, with SLA commitments starting 60 days after onboarding begins. Three per-user plans run $130 to $195 a month, after a paid assessment of $500 or $1,000 that is credited against onboarding. Founders Alek Pirkhalo and Dmitry Rudman still run the firm, with offices on North Michigan Avenue and in Palatine.
Best fit: Medical and dental practices, manufacturers and accounting firms with 10 to 100 users.
Think twice if: You want a short contract or overnight help desk; the standard agreement runs 36 months (shorter terms are quoted) and nobody staffs the desk overnight.

Critical issues get a response within 15 minutes, and urgent problems typically see someone on site within an hour. The industries it names are broad: nonprofits, manufacturers, schools, accounting firms, government, banks, architecture and construction, and logistics. Compliance work covers HIPAA, the PCI Data Security Standard and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Safeguards Rule. Companies with their own IT staff can buy co-managed support, and the help desk carries a 100-day satisfaction guarantee. It also publishes comparisons of Chicago competitors, with what each charges; read them knowing a rival wrote them.
Best fit: Firms that want one predictable monthly bill and on-site help close by.
Think twice if: You have fewer than 25 users; the stated fit is 25 to 250 (25 to 200 on the contact page).

Staff are full-time and US-based, and the homepage claims 99% client retention since 2007. Accounting, architecture and engineering, construction, legal, logistics and manufacturing are the industries it names.

How to choose a managed IT provider in Chicago
Pricing. EMPIST and SafePoint IT publish per-user monthly prices, between $99 and $235 a user. LeadingIT, Version2, LLC and Genuity IT describe flat-rate pricing, so ask each how headcount affects the quote and what triggers a price review. For the rest, ask for a written quote. SafePoint IT and Version2, LLC charge onboarding separately, so add it to your first-year total.
Support hours. "24/7" covers different things. Micro-Tech U.S.A., XL.net, EMPIST, PSM Partners and LeadingIT state round-the-clock support or help desk coverage. SafePoint IT pairs a daytime help desk with an evening on-call engineer. Genuity IT works weekday office hours.
Security and compliance. If you handle patient records, card payments or defense contracts, name the framework on the first call. Micro-Tech U.S.A. lists CMMC, HIPAA, PCI and GDPR support, and LeadingIT lists HIPAA, PCI and the FTC Safeguards Rule. XL.net and EMPIST hold SOC 2 Type II reports on their own controls, which your auditor or cyber insurer may want to see.
SLA terms. A response is an acknowledgment, so ask for the resolution target too. Micro-Tech U.S.A. promises to respond within 15 minutes, LeadingIT states a 15-minute response for critical issues, Version2, LLC aims for under 30 minutes, and SafePoint IT publishes response and resolution times by priority that start 60 days into onboarding. Version2, LLC offers a 2% monthly credit if core-service downtime goes over 1%, under its 99% uptime commitment; ask the others what you get when a target is missed.
Contract and exit. SafePoint IT's standard term is 36 months; XL.net offers month-to-month. Before signing, ask about notice periods, early termination fees, and who holds your passwords and admin accounts on the way out.
Questions worth asking on the first call:
- Who answers after hours, and what can they fix from there?
- What are the response and resolution targets for a server-down issue?
- What is inside the monthly price, and what gets billed as a project?
- Which office sends someone on site, and how fast?
- How long is the term, and what does leaving early cost?
- Which two current clients of a similar size will take a reference call?
