Plenty of businesses start looking for a new information technology (IT) partner after something breaks, like a phishing scare or a help desk that stopped calling back. This page compares the best managed IT services in Raleigh and Durham (the Triangle) for an owner or operations lead at a business of roughly 20 to 300 people.
Each firm here is a managed service provider (MSP), which means it looks after your IT for a monthly fee. What that fee covers varies by firm, so check the support, security, backup and cloud work in each proposal. For each one you get where it is based, what it says about response times and pricing, and the question to put to it before you sign.
This page is not written for enterprises with a full internal IT department, or for buyers who only want a technician when a laptop dies.
The numbering is for navigation only. Use the "Best fit" and "Think twice if" lines to match a firm to your size and your industry.
How this list was built
Every entry was checked against four criteria and last reviewed on November 7, 2026.
- Verified at the source. Every office, year, rating and claim traces to the provider's live website or its Google Business Profile. Where a fact card uses Clutch (hourly rates) or LinkedIn (team counts, founding years), it says so.
- A Triangle presence. An office in Raleigh or Durham, or a stated service area that covers Raleigh.
- A managed services offer. A monthly managed IT service, beyond one-off projects.
- A live site that is clearly the company. The domain resolves and belongs to the firm named.
Disqualified: project-only and break-fix firms, firms without a Triangle office or stated service area, and dead or reassigned domains. Figures marked "stated" are the provider's own words, and the headquarters (HQ) shown is the one each firm lists.
Each entry opens with a fact card. Review summaries are our reading of each firm's most recent Google reviews (up to 40), pulled in November 2026. Pricing marked Clutch is the hourly band the firm reports on its Clutch profile, and team counts marked LinkedIn are people who list the firm as their employer there. Fields we could not confirm are left off the card.

Each row shows the firm's headquarters (HQ), nearest office or stated service area, its Google rating, its support coverage and one thing it is known for. Google ratings come from each firm's Google Maps listing in November 2026. Under Google, n/a means we found no rating we could match to the firm; under Support, it means we could not confirm its support hours.

The best managed IT service providers in Raleigh
1. Micro-Tech U.S.A.
mtusa.com- Google rating
- 5.0 (2 reviews)
- HQ
- Chicago, IL; Raleigh office
- Founded
- 1989

The promise that stands out at Micro-Tech U.S.A. is its pod-based service model, built so you always talk to the same experts. The helpdesk is staffed only by live agents, and the stated response time is 15 minutes or less. This Chicago firm has delivered technology services since 1989 and runs a Raleigh office at 1 Glenwood Ave, Suite 500.
The Raleigh service list is broad: help desk, a virtual chief information officer (vCIO), managed cloud, network and endpoint security, Microsoft 365 and Azure, artificial intelligence (AI) projects and professional audiovisual work. Billing comes on one invoice, priced per agent and per hour. The site claims System and Organization Controls (SOC) 2, International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 27001 and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance.
Best fit: a growing or multi-site business that wants one invoice and the same team on every call.
Think twice if: you want leadership based in the Triangle. Micro-Tech is headquartered in Chicago, and Raleigh is one of three offices alongside Chicago and Milwaukee, so ask who in Raleigh would sit in your pod.
2. ITSco
itsco.com- Google rating
- 5.0 (15 reviews)
- HQ
- Durham, NC; Raleigh office
- Founded
- 1996
- Team
- 58 on LinkedIn

Client retention is the headline at ITSco: the firm says 60% of its clients have been with it for five years or longer. EmergeOrtho is quoted on 22 years of technical support, and YMCA of the Triangle and Piedmont Triad Anesthesia also appear as named clients. ITSco has served Raleigh, Durham and Research Triangle Park since 1996. Today it has a Durham headquarters on Creekstone Drive and a Raleigh office on Honeycutt Road.
The menu runs deep on security: a managed security operations center, managed detection and response, penetration testing and compliance as a service, next to help desk, backup and disaster recovery, Azure and Amazon Web Services, and Microsoft 365 with Copilot. Named industries run from healthcare and pharma to legal, accounting and manufacturing. The Raleigh page quotes one fixed monthly cost.
Best fit: a healthcare, pharma or professional services firm that values a long-tenured provider and a predictable bill.
Think twice if: you need response times guaranteed in writing. The stated figure is an average helpdesk response under one hour, so ask what their customized service level agreement (SLA) commits to.

What Google reviewers say: Prompt responses and quick troubleshooting get reviewers working again. Our summary of the 40 most recent Google reviews, November 2026. The firm did not reply to any of them.

Insight Tech Advisors sells managed IT without contracts. The firm says clients are never locked in, and its own site cites more than 135 five-star reviews. It has worked with small and mid-sized businesses since 2019 and lists an office on Wellington Court in Raleigh. It states 24/7/365 support with an average response time of 17 minutes. Pricing is described as transparent, with no hidden fees.
The meeting rhythm is spelled out too: quarterly business reviews plus monthly review meetings, which gives you a regular slot to raise problems. Services cover cybersecurity, cloud, HIPAA compliance, and remote or local on-site support. Insight also lists AI services through the NEXUS platform, and it lists a community healthcare organization as a client.
Best fit: a small or mid-sized business that wants to try a provider without a long commitment and likes a monthly check-in.
Think twice if: you want a provider with decades of history. Insight has operated since 2019, so ask for references from clients who have stayed three years or more.

What Google reviewers say: Fast responses and troubleshooting help reviewers resume work. Our summary of the 40 most recent Google reviews, November 2026. The firm replied to 33 of them.

Published pricing pages for both its Managed IT and Managed Infrastructure plans make Net Friends, Inc. a handy benchmark, even if you hire someone else. The Durham firm has provided managed IT in Durham and Raleigh since 1997 and says it has resolved more than 1.25 million support tickets in that time.
The firm lists NetVisor managed IT and a 24x7 help desk, so confirm help desk coverage in your plan. Critical tickets carry a guaranteed response within 30 minutes, most tickets are engaged the same day, and a service level agreement page is linked from the site. Its listed services also include endpoint detection and response, multi-factor authentication, patch management and email protection, so ask which come with your plan. NetCore covers managed infrastructure. Net Friends calls itself a SOC 2 Type II compliant provider and lists Microsoft Solutions Partner and Google Business Partner status.
Best fit: a small business that wants prices up front and a guaranteed response on critical tickets.
Think twice if: you sit near the 300-person end of the range. The homepage speaks to small businesses, so ask how many clients your size they support today.
5. SAM IT Solutions
samitsolutions.com- Google rating
- 4.9 (91 reviews)
- Office
- Durham, NC
- Support
- 24/7 network monitoring

- 40 on LinkedIn
What Google reviewers say: Quick replies and timely fixes for technical requests. Our summary of the 40 most recent Google reviews, November 2026. The firm replied to 34 of them.

Reach is what sets SAM IT Solutions apart. From an office on NC-54 in Durham, the firm serves Raleigh, Cary, Chapel Hill, Wake Forest, Garner and Holly Springs, and it delivers remote and onsite services across North Carolina, from Apex to Southern Pines and Wilmington. That matters if you run a second location outside the Triangle.
The team cites more than 14 years of consulting experience across over 1,250 projects. Its managed service pairs 24/7/365 proactive network monitoring with a tier-structured help desk that, by its own account, resolves issues within 15 minutes. Compliance checks for HIPAA and Payment Card Industry (PCI) standards are built in. SAM also handles infrastructure and cabling, so an office move can stay with one vendor.
Best fit: a business with sites beyond the Triangle, or one that takes card payments.
Think twice if: you read "15 minutes" as a promise. It is the stated resolution target for their help desk, so ask what share of tickets met it last quarter.
6. ThinkTech Advisors
thinktechadvisors.com- Google rating
- 4.9 (68 reviews)

- 32 on LinkedIn
What Google reviewers say: Quick responses and problem resolution help keep businesses working. Our summary of the 40 most recent Google reviews, November 2026. The firm replied to 40 of them.

Industry software is where ThinkTech Advisors puts its emphasis. Alongside managed IT and day-to-day support, the firm sells technology solutions built around industry-specific software, and the two industries it names are construction and finance. For a contractor or a finance office that depends on one line-of-business application, the first question on a call is who supports that software itself when it misbehaves.
ThinkTech was founded in 1999 and has spent more than 20 years serving businesses across North Carolina. Its headquarters is on Industrial Drive in Raleigh, and it also lists a Greensboro support center, which gives it a base in the Triad. The firm states a Microsoft Solutions Partner designation, and its about page mentions a Microsoft Small Business Specialist Certification.
Best fit: a construction or finance firm whose biggest headaches come from industry software.
Think twice if: your business sits outside construction and finance, the two industries their site names. Ask for a reference client in your field.
7. XceedIT
xceedit.com- Google rating
- 5.0 (67 reviews)
- HQ
- Raleigh, NC
- Support
- 24/7 security monitoring
- Founded
- 2009
What Google reviewers say: Prompt responses and troubleshooting resolve technical issues quickly. Our summary of the 40 most recent Google reviews, November 2026. The firm did not reply to any of them.

XceedIT was founded in 2009 and is employee-owned and operated in Raleigh. It describes its reach from that base as nationwide. Next to managed IT and support, it offers co-managed IT for companies that keep an internal IT person. If you already employ one stretched generalist who handles everything, co-managed IT is the option to raise first on the call.
The rest of the list is wide: cybersecurity, cloud security, Microsoft 365, Azure, compliance, phone systems, network management, and backup and recovery. It also builds and integrates applications and takes on AI projects. Security monitoring runs 24/7, by the firm's account. The industries it names are healthcare, construction and engineering, government, insurance and financial services, manufacturing, nonprofits, legal and accounting.
Best fit: a company whose in-house IT person needs backup.
Think twice if: you need a person on the phone at 2 a.m. The stated 24/7 coverage is security monitoring, so ask what hours the help desk keeps.
8. IT Practice

- 16 on LinkedIn
What Google reviewers say: Quick responses and repairs help practices keep their systems running. Our summary of the 40 most recent Google reviews, November 2026. The firm replied to 29 of them.

Dental and medical offices are the core market for IT Practice, and the service is shaped around them: HIPAA-focused compliance, support for imaging and clinical software, and technicians who travel onsite. The firm says it signs a Business Associate Agreement with every healthcare client. Pricing is one custom monthly quote per practice, with no pre-built tiers to compare.
The stated response standard is immediate attention for critical issues and under 30 minutes for routine requests. Cybersecurity and infrastructure management round out the offer, and it also serves small businesses across the Triangle and Triad from its office on Departure Drive in Raleigh. Its site says it was voted Raleigh's best IT company three years running but names no award body, so ask who ran the vote.
Best fit: a dental or medical practice that wants a provider fluent in clinical software.
Think twice if: you do not run a healthcare practice. The service is built around dental and medical offices, so ask how many general business clients they carry.
How to choose a managed IT provider in Raleigh
Compare pricing models on the same scope. These eight firms use at least four: per agent and per hour on one invoice (Micro-Tech U.S.A.), one fixed monthly cost (ITSco), a custom monthly quote with no tiers (IT Practice) and published plan pricing (Net Friends). Insight Tech Advisors works without contracts. Quote every finalist on the same headcount and locations.
Read response times closely. The numbers measure different things. Net Friends guarantees a 30-minute response on critical tickets. Insight quotes a 17-minute average, ITSco an average under one hour, Micro-Tech 15 minutes or less, and SAM IT Solutions a 15-minute resolution target. An average describes the past. A guarantee belongs in the SLA, along with what you get when they miss it.
Separate help desk hours from monitoring hours. "24/7" can mean a person answers at midnight, or that software watches your network overnight and a person reads the alert in the morning. Net Friends and Insight state round-the-clock support; SAM and XceedIT state 24/7 monitoring. Ask who picks up after 6 p.m. and on Saturdays.
Match compliance to your industry. Six of the eight mention healthcare clients or HIPAA work. If you handle patient data, ask for a signed Business Associate Agreement before onboarding, as IT Practice offers. If a customer or insurer wants a SOC 2 report, ask the provider for its own and check the date on it.
Settle exit terms before you sign. Ask for the term length, the notice period and exactly what you get back when you leave: admin credentials, network documentation and software licenses held in your name.
Use Google reviews as a starting point. Review counts on this page run from 2 to 91. Read the newest ones for how a problem was handled. (MSP owners: our guide to Google Business Profile for MSPs covers how those reviews shape map results.)
Questions to ask on the first call:
- Who handles our account day to day, and will we reach the same people each time?
- Is your response time an average or a guarantee, and is it written into the SLA?
- How would you price a business with our headcount and locations, and what is excluded?
- What is the contract term, the notice period, and the handover process if we leave?
- Can we speak to two clients in our industry and size range?
